distractions

Distractions aren't always a bad thing. Some of you might understand why I am saying this. You get distracted when you are needed to focus on something, in school, office, etc. But you also get distracted when you are thinking. You see, when you are in deep thought, a thought chain is formed, and maybe while thinking along with the main thing you remember something related to a word or an incident and you might get engrossed in that thought; the chain doesn't break, it just takes an exit. Like now, you are reading this, your brain is trying to comprehend but you can easily get distracted with some notification on the screen.

But this has a different pov too. The most basic example where distractions are handy are babies, you see a baby crying you naturally calm it down but then you distract them with a toy or a phone or something. Distractions redirect our brain from things we need to focus on but the same goes with the pain. If you are bleeding and someone arranges a nice couch with a blanket and ice cream with 10 seasons of FRIENDS, wouldn't it be a great distraction from the pain? hellsyes?

So what i am basically saying is sometimes distractions are sort of beneficial. Sometimes when you are in pain, instead of finding a solution just get distracted. Watch a show, paint, read, dance, sing, just stare into nature, get a break. Instead of looking out for the answer, you might just find one in yourself :)
