Impression
Impression, a fake translucent sheet one puts up on themselves to make the other person feel either undermined or impressed. (quite frankly, it's like applying makeup to your personality). Good handwriting, having " certain "types of drinks, going to selective restaurants...what does this indicate? You are trying to fit in. Making the perfect impression. To some it may come naturally, they just have it in them. But the others seem to rehearse the first time they know they are going to meet someone r practice an act they will "perform naturally" once the situation arises.
The most likely emotion which follows the word 'impression' is anxiety or the state of nervousness. People are prone to say things like " The first impression is the last impression" or "dress how you want to be addressed". When they should be calming the person down, or telling them to be natural, cause in the long run that's what they are going to get isn't it? They can't possibly be a different person for the rest of whatever time they're spending together. Well, at least that's my opinion.
But you see, the interpretation of this word changes with the context. For instance- if you are going for an interview you can't go in there with a tedious expression, but if you are attending a business meeting where you are not the one in need, you can be a little tedious to seal the deal in your favour ;-)
Another interpretation of the word "impression" could be 'impact'. What impact you make on one's opinion or perception. Whatever you do, you cannot uphold the fake translucent sheet for long. Eventually, how you speak to your inferiors, actions, opinions, your convincing skills, your mannerisms, your charm are the only things that matter. You see, perceptions change, an unexpected small act of kindness can ease up the invisible strings of tension between people. It's what on the inside that matters. As I said the sheet is translucent, people will eventually see through it and the sheet will one day become crystal clear.
Well, that became heavy very fast. So, I would like to conclude on a lighter note by saying, don't wear that conventional translucent sheet, don't be 'up to the mark', be yourself, you decide where your mark is and live up to it. And maybe smile a little, as they say, a smile is a curve that puts everything straight.
Reading this just now, seriously wow, applying make up to your personality
