Reading- A new trance

Hey...so this is my first blog. So I thought I will keep the topic light and breezy. It' reading. Now if you are an avid reader, then you are doing good. To the people who are not very keen on reading , this is for you. So we all see that the adults, the "society"  keep pressurizing the non readers to read and stuff. But they never really tell you why. So im gonna do that part for you in a sort of chill way? I'm going to give you reasons to at least give reading a faithful try cuz it's worth it.

Well..if you love to read you wouldn't be needing "reasons" to read. But if you don't you are going to need some reasons until you fall in love with it. First of all, start reading for your vocabulary, it enhances your grammar and improves your construction of sentences. Secondly, it increases your knowledge. It does not have to be Bohr's theory or how much watt a regular light bulb consumes/day. It can be as simple as street smartness or moral values or information about the daily lives of people in another region. Reading helps you concentrate on other things such as learning to paint smoothly. It is a calming therapy which we could do alone. All the introverts out there, you don't like listening to people, do you? Well, try listening to the authors. 💁

Every book has its tale...have you ever wondered what could have possibly inspired any author to write a 200-page book. A real author can create pictures in our mind with the details and the intricateness of his/her writing. Let's take the example of J.K. Rowling. Hopefully, everybody has at least heard her name. She had a dark period in her life. She went through a divorce and was a single mom. She had dreams or blackouts [idk how much of this is true] and that's where she got the idea of the physical structure of the dementor. If you are a Potterhead, this might be easy for you to grasp. The dementors practically suck the happiness out of humans [sorry but there is no polite way to put that]. They feed onto you until there is no soul living in you. That's what she was going through back then..divorced, single mother, an unsupportive sister and she lost her mother 6 months into writing. The dementors symbolize the dark patch of her life. So you see every element in a book is about something. So the next time you read harry potter you will remember about her dark patch and you probably will ponder on it unlike the other characters cuz you dont know their backstory, do you?

The more you get into fiction it kinda makes you despise reality. You open up your imaginations. Like what? Get under a dirty robe and just vanish. The time your thoughts about the book meet your imagination..it is a crazy frenzy, you just go on reading and it becomes an offline addiction. You read while eating, while cooking and sometimes family functions too[not to impress the relatives but only cuz you can't wait how the book ends or sometimes you don't want it to end].

Another fact would be as we read different books we live the characters in them. We know how they think we know they will react[sometimes we start to act like some of them..]
So basically what I'm saying is we start to think differently, which helps in character development. There is a lot to learn from everything and everything is a lot. Based on your age you can find a practical perspective, a spiritual perspective or a different perspective of your own. It's not about what you think, its about the way you think about it.

Sometimes the fictional world becomes the new normal but we have to come back to the reality. Cuz reality is our fictional world where we write our surreal stories. It's a part of who we are. But if you wanna take breaks from this world make sure you visit any library..public..private it doesnt matter. If you have truly fallen in love with reading it is then when you will actually feel the energy of vellichor.

So I would like to conclude by saying reading is not for spending your gala time, it's for spending your time constructively...ig it's like investing in your time? Also, if you love books which society describes as "stupid" dont pay any heed to them cuz as long you are reading, you are absolutely fine!

Thank you for reading :)

  3. Amazing grasp of the topic at an early age. Reading is a stress buster, there's no second thought about it. The author has understood the importance of reading in every day life and has articulated it in a unique non "teen" way. The author seems to be well-read herself e.g. the details as well as nuances captured from Harry Potter series. Author's articulation seems to be above par.
